Cheqi is an end-to-end encrypted receipt network. Pay as you normally do and your digital receipt arrives automatically in the app — no paper, no photos, no PDFs. Behind the app, the same network delivers receipts to businesses, accounting tools, and apps you authorize.

Download the app for iOS or Android and add the card or payment identifier you pay with. When you pay at a merchant connected to Cheqi, your receipt appears in the app on its own.

Your name is optional. If you add your first name, last name, or both, Cheqi includes it as the customer name on new personal receipts and invoices. When you pay with a company card, your saved name can identify you as the contact while the company remains the legal customer. This can make a receipt easier to identify, and some invoices require a full name. If you leave the fields blank, Cheqi still works and your name is simply omitted. Changes apply only to new receipts.

Your name must be saved in Profile under Name on receipts before the receipt is issued. Adding or changing it does not rewrite existing receipts, because a receipt stays as it was originally issued. Future personal receipts will use the name you saved. For purchases with a company card, the company remains the legal customer and your saved name can appear as the contact.

It's the card or bank account you pay with — really a reference to it (your card's reference or IBAN), not your full card number. Cheqi uses it to tell which receipts are yours: when you pay at a connected merchant, their receipt carries that payment reference, Cheqi matches it to an identifier you've registered, and routes the receipt to you — and to any tools you've authorized — automatically and end-to-end encrypted. That's why a registered identifier is the key to receiving: without one, there's nothing to match a receipt against. You stay in control — add the identifiers you want receipts for, and change or revoke routing per identifier whenever you like.

Automatic receipts work at merchants connected to Cheqi — through their POS or e-commerce system. More merchants connect over time. Don't see a store you use? Let us know and we'll reach out to them.

Cheqi is a network, not a scanner. A receipt flows automatically only when both sides are on the network — a merchant issuing through Cheqi on one end, and you (or your business, accounting tool, or app) on the other. The more merchants, point-of-sale systems, and tools that join, the more of your receipts arrive on their own. That's why a place that isn't connected yet won't deliver automatically — and why telling us about it helps: every new connection makes the network more useful for everyone.

Yes — Cheqi is free to download and use.

Yes. Consumers can add debit and credit cards free of charge.

Yes. Consumers can add an IBAN free of charge. We may still ask for a €0.01 Wero/iDEAL verification transaction to confirm that the IBAN belongs to you; that transaction is only for verification.

A debit card and your bank account aren't the same thing — one bank account can have several cards. When you add a debit card, Cheqi only receives the card's reference, not your IBAN, so it can't tell on its own which account it belongs to. So you set up your bank account (IBAN) once, free of charge, and then add as many debit cards to it as you like without re-entering your IBAN each time. A credit card is its own account, so there's nothing to set up first.

No. Cheqi is free for consumers: no subscription, no card setup fee, and no bank account setup fee. An IBAN verification transaction of €0.01 may still be required.

Businesses receive and securely store receipts in Cheqi for free, and pay €0.25 only when a receipt is routed to a third party. The standard merchant rate is €0.05 per issued receipt, regardless of how the customer receives it. Receiving integrations are free. See the pricing page for details.

No. Receipts are end-to-end encrypted before they reach Cheqi's servers. Only you and the parties you explicitly authorize can decrypt them — even Cheqi cannot read what you bought.

The receipt is encrypted on the device or merchant side before it's submitted. Cheqi routes the encrypted data but holds no key to read its contents.

Your receipts are backed up encrypted to your iCloud or Google Drive, so you can restore them on a new device.

No — Cheqi doesn't share your identifying details with merchants, and privacy-conscious customers can use a one-time pairing code to stay anonymous.

You do. Set routing per payment identifier — or per company — to personal finance apps, your business, or keep receipts entirely private.

Start a return request directly from the app. Cheqi sends it to the merchant with all the details they need — no digging for the original receipt.

No. Receiving and securely storing receipts in Cheqi is free. Billing only needs to be set up before Cheqi can route receipts to a connected third-party tool; each routed receipt costs €0.25.

Two ways: integrate through the SDK or API (available in Java, Python, JavaScript, and .NET), or — for small merchants without a POS — issue receipts manually from the Cheqi app.

No. A POS or e-commerce integration is the smoothest path, but you can issue receipts straight from the app.

In the Cheqi app, open your company's Receipt Settings. First add a billing card — Cheqi bills your company directly for the receipts you issue, so a card is required before you can issue. Then choose whether to offer browser receipts when no Cheqi user is found. Once billing is set up, you can issue from the app or through your POS or integration.

Cheqi members receive their receipt automatically. For everyone else, Cheqi can provide a browser receipt as a QR code or link, with no account or email address required. After it opens, supported browsers save it locally so the customer can revisit receipt.cheqi.io or export a PDF later. You choose whether to allow this fallback in Receipt Settings.

The integration's own settings. When a connected third-party application issues receipts on your behalf, its delivery and fallback configuration applies — not your company's settings in the Cheqi app. Your company-level Receipt Settings apply when you issue directly, from the Cheqi app or with your own API credentials.

From one normalized payload, Cheqi produces structured JSON, UBL Invoice, and UBL Purchase Receipt.
